Sanskrit Class 7 Chapter 6 Sadacharah  सदाचारः Translations in Hindi + English

सदाचारः (अच्छा आचरण)

यस्मिन् देशे य आचारः परम्पर्यक्रमागतः। 

वर्णानां सान्तरालानां स सदाचार उच्यते।। 

सरलार्थ -

जिस देश में जो व्यवहार परम्परा के क्रम से प्राप्त हुआ है, समस्त वर्गों का और वर्गों के मध्य में आए समस्त उपवर्गों का वह अच्छा व्यवहार कहलाता है। 

English Translation-

In a country, a conduct which is got by tradition is called the good conduct of all classes and the subclasses therein.

श्वः कार्यमद्य कुर्वीत् पूर्वाह्ने चापराह्निकम्। 

नहि प्रतीक्षते मृत्युः कृतमस्य न वा कृतम्।। 

सरलार्थ -

कल का काम आज कर लेना चाहिए और दोपहर का पूर्वाह्न में।  मृत्यु प्रतीक्षा नहीं करती, कि इसका काम हो गया या नहीं हुआ अर्थात इसने काम पूरा कर लिया या नहीं। भाव यह है कि काम को कभी टालना नहीं चाहिए क्योंकि पता नहीं कब जीवन समाप्त हो जाए। 

English Translation-

One should do today what needs to be done tomorrow and sin the forenoon what must be done in the afternoon. Death never waits for anyone whether a person's job is done or not (the idea is that one should not procrastinate for one doesn't know when death will strike).

सत्यं ब्रूयात् प्रियं ब्रूयात् न ब्रूयात् सत्यमप्रियम्। 

प्रियं च नानृतं ब्रूयात् एष धर्मः सनातनः।। 

सरलार्थ -

सच बोलना चाहिए, प्रिय बोलना चाहिए, अप्रिय सच नहीं बोलना चाहिए और प्रिय झूट भी नहीं बोलना चाहिए। यही शाश्वत(सदा से चले आ रहा) धर्म(आचार) है।   

English Translation-

one should speak the truth, should speak pleasant words, should not speak the bitter truth and a sweet lie. This is an eternal ethic.

 सर्वदा व्यवहारे स्यात् औदार्यं सत्यता तथा। 

ऋजुता मृदुता चापि कौटिल्यं च न कदाचन।। 

सरलार्थ -

व्यवहार में हमेशा (सदैव) उदारता,सच्चाई, सरलता और मधुरता हो (होनी चाहिए), (व्यवहार में ) कभी भी टेढ़ापन नहीं हो। (होना चाहिए) . 

English Translation-

There should always be generosity, truth, straight-forwardness and pleasantness in behavior. There should never be crookedness (in behavior).

श्रेष्ठं जनं गुरुं चापि मातरं पितरं तथा। 

मनसा कर्मणा वाचा सेवेत सततं सदा।। 

सरलार्थ -

सज्जन, गुरुजन और माता-पिता की भी हमेशा मन से और वाणी से निरन्तर सेवा करनी चाहिए। 

English Translation-

One should ceaselessly serve the good people, teachers and parents with heart, actions and sweet speech.

मित्रेण कलहं कृत्वा न कदापि सुखी जनः। 

इति ज्ञात्वा प्रयासेन तदेव परिवर्जयेत्।। 

सरलार्थ -

मित्र के झगड़ा करके मनुष्य कभी भी सुखी नहीं रहता है। यह जानकर प्रयन्त से उसे (झगड़े को ) ही छोड़ देना चाहिए। 

English Translation-

One never remains happy after quarrelling with a friend, knowing this one should stay away from quarrel i.e., make every effort to avoid strike.

शब्दार्थाः (Word Meaning)-

रिपुः -शत्रु Enemy

उद्यमः - परिश्रम Hard Work

शरीरस्थः - शरीर में स्थित Existing in the body

अवसीदति - दुःखी होता है। Become sorrow

श्वः - आने  वाला कल Tomorrow

कुर्वीत - करना चाहिए Should do

पूर्वाह्ने - दोपहर से पहले In the forenoon

आपराह्निकम् - दोपहर के बाद करने योग्य कार्य Work to be done in the afternoon

अनृतम् - झूठ Lie 

सनातनः - सदा से चला आ रहा हो Eternal

स्यात् - हो Should be

औदार्यम् - उदारता Generosity

ऋजुता - सरलता Simplicity

मृदुता - कोमलता Softness

कौटिल्यम् - कुटिलता Wickedness

सेवेत् - सेवा करनी चाहिए Should serve

परिवर्जयेत् - बचना चाहिए Should avoid

वाचा - वाणी से By speech
