Sanskrit Class 7 Chapter 4  Hasyabalakavisammelanam Translations in Hindi +English

हास्यबालकविसम्मेलनम् 

(विविध-वेषभूषाधारिणः चत्वारः बालकवयः मञ्चस्य उपरि उपविष्ठाः सन्ति। अधः श्रोतारः हास्यकविताश्रवणाय उत्सुकाः सन्ति कोलाहलं च कुर्वन्ति )

सरलार्थ - 

(भिविन्न वेशभूषा वाले चार बाल कवि मञ्च के उपर बैठे हुए हैं। निचे श्रोता हास्य कविता सुनने के लिए उत्सुक हैं और शोर मचा रहे हैं।) 

English Translation- (Four child-poets in different attires(dresses) are sitting on the stage. Below the audience are eager to hear the humorous poetry and is making a noise.)

सञ्चालकः - अलं कोलाहलेन।अद्य परं हर्षस्य अवसरः यत अस्मिन् कविसम्मेलने काव्यहन्तारः कालयापकाश्च भारतस्य हास्यकविधुरन्धराः समागताः सन्ति। एही, करतलध्वनिना वयम् एतेषां स्वागतं कुर्मः। 

सरलार्थ - 

सञ्चालक - शोर करने से बस करो (शोर मत करो)। आज बहुत प्रसन्नता का अवसर है कि इस कवी सम्मलेन में काव्यहन्ता (काव्य को नष्ट करनेवाले) और कलयापक (समय बर्बाद करनेवाले) भारत के श्रेष्ठ हास्य कवि आए हुए हैं।  आओ! हम सब तालियों से इन सबका स्वागत करें। 

English Translation- 

Director- Don't make noise. Today is an occasion of great pleasure that in this conference poets, the eminent humorous poets of India, the Kavyahantara (The undoers of poetry) and the Kalyapakah (those who waste time) are present. Please come! Let us welcome them with applause.

   

गजाधरः -सर्वेभोSरसिकेभ्यो नमो नमः। प्रथमं तावद् अहम् आधुनिकं वैद्यम् उद्दिश्य स्वकीयं काव्यं श्रावयामि -

                            वैद्यराज! नमस्तुभ्यं यमराजसहोदर। 

                            यमस्तु हरति प्राणान् वैद्यः प्राणान् धनानि च।। 

सरलार्थ -

गजाधर - सब नीरस जनों को नमस्कार।  तब तक पहले मैं आधुनिक वैद्यों को लक्ष्य करके अपनी कविता सुनाता हूँ - हे वैद्यराज! यमराज के भाई, आपको नमस्कार है। यमराज तो प्राणों को ले जाता है, वैद्य प्राणों को और धन दोनों को ले जाता है। 

(सब जोर से हँसते हैं)

English Translation-

Gajadhara- Salutation to all the uninteresting persons. Then first of all I recite my poem aiming at the modern physician.

Oh! Physician! brother of the God of death, I bow to you. The God of death takes away only life but the physician takes away both life and money.

कलान्तकः - अरे वैद्यास्तु सर्वत्र परन्तु न ते मादृशाः कुशलाः जनसंख्यानिवारणे। ममापि काव्यम इदं शृण्वन्तु भवन्तः -

                                चितां प्रज्वलितां दृष्ट्वा वैद्यो विस्मयमागतः। 

                                नाहं गतो न में भ्राता कस्येदं हस्तलाघवम्।। 

(सर्वे पुनः हसन्ति।)

 सरलार्थ -

कालान्तक- अरे! वैद्य तो सब जगह हैं, परन्तु वे जनसंख्या कम करने में मेरेजैसे निपुण नहीं हैं। आप सब मेरे भी इस काव्य को सुनिए। 

चिता जलती हुई देखकर वैद्य ने आश्चर्य किया कि न मैं गया, न मेरे भाई, यह किसके हाथ की सफाई है। 

(सब जोर से हँसते हैं)

English Translation-

Kalantaka- Oh! the physicians are everywhere but they are not as a expert as I am in reducing the population. All of you please listen to this poem of mine also. 

Looking at the burning pyre, the physician was surprised that neither he nor his brother( the God of death) wet (there), then whose sleight of hand it was? (Again all loudly laugh)

तुन्दिलः -( तुन्दस्य उपरि हस्तम् आवर्तयन्) तुन्दिलोSहम् भोः। ममापि इदं काव्यं श्रुयताम्, जीवने धार्यतां च -

परान्नं प्राप्य दुर्बुद्धे ! मा शरीरे दयां कुरु!

परान्नं दुर्लभं लोके शरीराणि पुनः पुनः।। 

सरलार्थ -

तुन्दिल -(तोंद के ऊपर हात फेरते हुए ) मैं तुन्दिल हूँ।  अरे मेरी भी इस कविता को सुनो और जीवन में अपनाओ-दुष्टबुद्धिवाले ! दूसरे का अन्न प्राप्त करके शरीर पर दया मत कर। संसार में दूसरे का अन्न दुर्लभ है। शरीर बार-बार मिलता रहता है। 

(सब जोर से हँसते हैं)

English Translation-

Tundil- (stroking his pot belly) I am Tundil. Listen to this poem  of mine and adopt it in your life.

Hey! you wicked mineded! Do not have mercy on your body (life) while acceptiong food from somebody else. The other's food rare in the world, one gets life again and again.

( Again everyone laughs loudly) 

चार्वाकः - आम्, आम् शरीरस्य पोषणं सर्वथा उचितमेव।  यदि धनं नास्ति, तदा ऋणं कृत्वापि पौष्टिकः पदार्थः एव भोक्तव्यः। तथा कथयति चार्वाक कविः -

यावज्जीवेत् सुखं जीवेद् ऋणं कृत्वा घृतं पिबेत्। 

श्रोतारः - तर्हि ऋणस्य प्रत्यार्पणं कथम् ?

चार्वाकः - श्रूयतां मम अवशिष्टं काव्यम् -

घृतं पित्वा श्रमं कृत्वा ऋणं प्रत्यर्पयेत जनः। 

(काव्यपाठश्रवणेन् उत्प्रेरितः एकः बालकोSपि आशुकवितां रचयति, हसपूर्वकं च श्रावयति) 

सरलार्थ -

चार्वाक - हाँ, हाँ ! शरीर का पोषण हमेशा ही ठीक रहता है।  अगर धन नहीं है, तब कर्ज लेकर भी पौष्टिक (शरीर को बलवान बनाने वाले) पदार्थों का ही उपभोग करना चाहिए। और चार्वाक कवि कहते हैं -

जब तक जियो सुख से जियो, कर्ज लेकर भी घी पियो। 

श्रोतागण - तो कर्ज को कैसे चुकाया जाए ?

चार्वाक - मेरे बची हुई कविता भी सुनिए --

घी पीकर, परिश्रम करके लोगों को कर्ज वापस कर देना चाहिए। 

(काव्य पाठ से प्रेरित होकर एक बालक भी तुरंत कविता की रचना करता है और हँसते हुए सुनाता है )

English Translation-

Charvak- Yes, yes. Nourishing the body is always most appropriate. If there is no money then one should even borrow and consume nourishing food. The poet Charvak says- As long as one lives one should live in comfort. One should consume ghee (good nourishing food) even if one need to borrow.

Audience- Then how should one repay the debt.

Charvak - Please listen to my remaining poem. After drinking ghee( consuming healthy nourishing food) and doing hard work one should repay the debt. 

(Inspired by this poetry-recitation, a bou hastily writes a verse and recites it with a laugh)

बालकः - श्रुयताम् श्रूयतां भोः! ममापि काव्यम् -

गजाधरं कविं चैव तुन्दिलं भोज्यलोलुपम्। 

कालान्तकं तथा वैद्यं चार्वाकं च नमाम्यहम्।। 

(काव्यं श्रावयित्वा 'हा हा हा' इति कृत्वा हसति। अन्ये चाSपि हसन्ति सर्वे गृहं गच्छन्ति। ) 

सरलार्थ -

बालक -अरे सुनिए, सुनिए! मेरी भी कविता --

गजाधर कवि और खाने के लोभी तुन्दिल, कालान्तक (प्राण लेने वाले ) को तथा वैद्य चार्वाक को मैं प्रणाम करता हूँ। 

( कविता सुनाकर (बालक) हा हा हा ऎसे करके हँसता है। दूसरे भी हँसते हैं और सभी घर जाते हैं। )

काव्यहन्तारः - काव्य  को नष्ट करने वाले (Destroyers of poetry) 

कालयापकाः - समय बर्बाद करने वाले (Whiling away the time)

धुरन्धराः - अग्रणी, श्रेष्ठ (The best)

एहि - आयें, आइए (Please come)

करतलध्वनिना - तालियों से (With Clapping sounds)

अरसिकेभ्यः - नीरस जनों को (To the disinterested)

स्वकीयम् - अपने (Own)

मादृशाः -मेरे जैसे (Like me)

हस्तलाघवम् - हाथ की सफाई (Hand's work)

 तुन्दस्य - तोंद के (Enlarged belly)

आवर्तयन् - फेरता हुआ (Putting hands all over)

धार्यताम् -धारण करें (Please bear)

परान्नं -दूसरों के अन्न को (Other's food)

पौष्ठिकः -पुष्टि देने वाला (Nourishing)

प्रत्यर्पणम् - लौटाना (Repaying)

अवशिष्ठम् - बचा हुआ, शेष (Remaining)

उत्प्रेरितः - प्रेरित होकर (Being inspired)

श्रावयति -सुनाता है (Recites)

भोज्यलोलुपं - खाने का लोभी (Greedy for food)
